A visitor to Tallinn, or anywhere else, will see what they want to see. Similarities and differences remain person-specific since taste and freedom are activities of perception. Genuine conditions are obscured by the act of looking out or in, inaccuracy reciprocates and distorts signals. Decoding risks corruption making it necessary even now to chaperon actual things and people as cultural missionaries or new-era cosmopolitan cargo.

4 discreet screen prints on raw linen: a dry icon pretty much invisible against our shared background. This breed of contemporary design strains to have it both ways: global/ local, traditional/ modern. This natural(ised)-neutral(ised) universal language stands in for content, standardisation/stylisation exists as a form of refusal.

Meanwhile, the gallery becomes a being space. A public interior with soft chairs that transcends function. Environmentally friendly furniture pieces made with old industrial pallets support and frame imported social objects.
