In the painting series made while in residency at the Baltic Art Center in Gotland, Meldere has created collages mixing paintings and print, presenting interiors filled with design objects that reflect Scandinavian living standards. They represent a speculative attempt at compairing and juxtaposing identity, language and environemnt. Meldere, who lives abroad from her country of origin, explores these themes also from her own perspective.
“Correlation” examines living and work depticting lonely figures displaced in office space, assimilating daily life in a new environment.
